DESCRIPTION
GatorSktch Architects was requested by Parks & Trails to assist with the architectural and structural design of the conversion of an industrial shipping container, approximately 8' x 8' x 40', into a prototypical storage building for North Lake Community Park in Umatilla, Florida. The rectangular storage container was retrofitted with metal trusses, roofing system, cementitious hardi-board siding, and new doors & windows, all of which follow the architectural style and detailing of the buildings which currently exist in the park. In addition, special foundation design was performed to meet current building codes. The storage container design is intended as a prototype for this park, which will assist in future storage and maintenance needs.
